A forensic crypto analysis shows that a French donor worth more than $ 500,000 in bitcoin (BTC) to far-right activists in the United States. The half-million dollars went to the groups that participated in the pro-Trump riots in the Capitol.

Alt-Right personalities and websites are included in the recipient list

According to Chain analysis, the unnamed donor sent 28.15 BTC (valued at $ 522,000 at time of transfer) on December 6, 2020 to 22 separate addresses in one transaction. According to the report, many of those wallets are owned by personalities associated with far-right activists in the US.

Yahoo News detailed that Vdare (anti-immigration organization), the Daily Stormer (right wing website) and Nick Fuentes were among the recipients of crypto donations. Alt-right streamer Ethan Ralph is also on the list that Chainalysis published about the half million dollar donation.

The blockchain analytics firm clarified that there is no evidence yet of Fuentes’ participation in the Capitol riots. It quoted previous statements by him asking people to protest against Congress’s statement on Joe Biden’s victory.

But Chainalysis still emphasized that a BTC donation worth more than $ 250,000 sent on December 8, 2020, is by far the largest crypto donation Fuentes has ever received.

Donor may have committed suicide after arranging for the BTC Payments

Regarding the identity of the French donor, there is information that the wallet used to settle payments has been active since 2013. The blockchain analyst firm suggests that he could be a “relatively early adoptor of bitcoin whose holdings were significantly reduced. value has grown “.

One of the BTC addresses associated with the donor’s wallet are registered on Nameid – a service that allows users to link their online identity to their BTC address.

Chainalysis discovered that the crypto donor is a French computer programmer after searching his email address. After sending the donations, he posted on a personal blog what appears to be a suicide note. The report, which indicates the motivation behind his donations, states:

He mentions that he ‘failed’ [his] fortune for certain causes and certain people, ”and cites several alt-right talking points in his analysis of the world today. For example, he states his belief that “Western civilization is declining” and claims that Westerners are encouraged to hate their “ancestors and heritage.”

Federal authorities and law enforcement agencies are also investigating the source of funds, according to Yahoo News.
